WHO ARE THESE DILLS?

They are the sacred brotherhood known as The Order Of The Golden Arrow.

It has been way too long since there was an update, but we've finally gotten around to it.  Rest assured, if there has been a hunting or fishing season open - we have been there getting it done.  Check out the Gallery Section and the Articles Section for updates.  Dave wrote a tough letter to the RMEF regarding amenity ranches.  The letter is featured in the Articles Section.  Look for updates of the Tally section and Gallery as the 2008 seasons wind down.

FISH, TURKEYS, APPLICATIONS, AND ANNUAL BANQUET

The deadline for the Moose, Sheep, and Goat drawing applications was May 1.  Hopefully all of you forgot to put them in so the guys that did have a better chance of drawing!

The Order have been out doing some early season fishing, and turkey chasing this spring.  The cold year we have been having has made the spring fishing a little more difficult than usual, and might make the rivers blow out pretty hard over the next 4-6 weeks.  Opening day of lake fishing is this Saturday (May 17th), and will probably be the best option for catching some fish during spring runoff.

The Gallery, and Article sections have been updated.  The Article section includes a letter from David Tingley to the FWP Commisioners regarding the season dates for Big Game and a nice article from our friend Ryan Kolodejchuk documenting his Alaskan Dall sheep hunt.  Check them out.

The Order held the Annual Golden Arrow Award banquet in early April.  Jim Rolle was awarded the Golden Arrow for a combination of his near death Swan hunt in which he had to be rescued by Jason Rolle and the local Game Warden, and his successful Super Tag moose hunt.  The full Banquet article will be added soon.

The 2007 hunting seasons have come to a close and it is time for the Order to look back on another great season.  A few late entries into the 2007 Gallery will be made over the next few weeks, and the 2008 Tally will be kicked off with ice fishing stats.  Overall, 2007 was a solid season for the Order which racked up its second best elk and duck totals, the highest antelope, combined grouse, and Canada goose totals, and tied the highest mule deer total.  Jim Rolle also bagged his first moose tag and completed the deal by taking a nice bull moose, after applying for the tag for over 25 years.  As usual, there were many great memories made in the field amongst the friends and family that comprise the sacred brotherhood know as The Order of the Golden Arrow.
